Below are a set of articles and links for patients to review. They provide information about my approach to therapy and the evidence base behind it. Many new patients find them useful.

Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy

What does this approach entail?

  1. The evaluation/feedback stage includes a 3-session evaluation period in which I meet with the couple (session 1), then with each individual (sessions 2 & 3). The fourth session is the feedback session which involves my presenting key themes in the relationship that have produced difficulties and how therapy could help.

  2. The treatment phase involves discussions of recent and/or upcoming positive and negative relationship experiences. I play an active role in helping the couple promote clear communication about these events and break destructive patterns.

  3. IBCT involves short weekly questionnaires that guide each treatment session.
